Obituary of Kristine Mae Maureen Anderson

      October 25, 1947 – July 15, 2019

The family of Kristine Anderson sadly announces her passing on July 15, 2019 at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Grande Prairie, Alberta. 

Kristine was born in Gimli, Manitoba on October 25, 1947 to Marus Sigurgeirson and Mae Palson. The family moved to Bisset Manitoba until Marus’ death in 1949.  Mae went on to marry Olafur Anderson and they resided in Riverton Manitoba where Kristine attended school. 

In 1971, Kristine married Garth Thibert in Pincher Creek, AB where they raised their three children; Cheri, Jillian and Justin.  Kristine and Garth divorced and Kristine moved to Victoria, BC in 1993 to be with her beloved Denis Olson.  Kristine and Denis shared an amazing 23 years together filled with love, music, and adventure.

Kristine was known for her amazing sense of style, her witty sense of humor, and her love of music. She had very high standards, which was reflected in everything she did, especially in her work as a hairdresser.  She owned several salons throughout Canada and with her quick hands and eye for style she made sure nobody left disappointed.  Although her greatest pride in life was her children and grand children. She never missed an opportunity to boast about their accomplishments or share a few pictures with anyone who would listen.

Kristine is survived by her children; daughters Cheri (Mike) Beecroft, Jillian Thibert, and son Justin (Ali) Thibert; grandchildren; Kale, Carly and Billy Beecroft and Amelia and William Thibert; a brother, Vincent and sister Pamela Anderson.

She was predeceased by her parents Marus and Mae Sigurgierson and stepfather Olafur Anderson; and a brother, Randall.  She was also predeceased by her grandparents Sigurgier and Kristbjorg Sigurgeirson and Ebenezer Vilhelmina Palson andMagnus and Rannveig Anderson who became Kristine’s third set of grandparents when Mae married Oli Anderson.

As per Kristine’s wishes, there will be no funeral service held.
