Obituary of Mark Stephen Berens

April 28, 1957 – September 19, 2019

The family of Mark Berens sadly wishes to announce his passing on September 19, 2019 at Prairie Lake Community Living, Grande Prairie at the age of 62 years.

Mark was a highly regarded journeyman pressure welder with many other tickets and acknowledgements for his talented work in and around his trade.  Mark shared his knowledge and skills with students and apprentices as a trade’s instructor at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton, AB. 

Mark is survived by his long time dear friend, Aileen; son Kyle Laviolette, granddaughter Shazta Laviolette; siblings Bob Sanderson (Jean), Lloyd Berens (Marni), Ann Berens, Audrey Berens, Valerie Janz (Robin), Patricia Russell, Debbie Russell, Peggy Russell, Earl Russell, Darwin H Berens and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

Mark loved his puppies and leaves behind those three little hunny’s.

Our friend, brother, uncle, grandfather, and cousin, Mark Stephen Berens, was predeceased by his son Jason, his father William (Billy) Berens, mother Hervina (Sanderson) Berens, stepdad Joe Russell, siblings Marjorie, Darwin, Donny and Caroline Berens.

A Celebration of Life and interment will be held at a later date in Hay River, NWT where Mark grew up.
