Obituary of Gerald Rowe

Gerald Rowe, long time resident of Worsley passed away on December 31st in Fairview at the age of 92 years. Gerald Rowe was born on January 31, 1924 at Griffin Creek, Alberta to Joseph and Mary-Anne Rowe. Gerald homesteaded in the Worsley area in 1948. Gerald married the love of his life Olive (Hollingshead) on March 31, 1953. Gerald, Olive and their eldest son Jim moved to Worsley to reside in 1954. Gerald and Olive raised 5 sons and 1 daughter. Jim (Donna), Neil (Lonnie), Lawrence, Allan, Kerry (Maxine) and Tracy (Jason). Gerald was a proud farmer. He never worked off of the farm, he made his living entirely from farming. Throughout the years Gerald and Olive raised pigs, grain and cattle. After retiring from farming he stayed in shape gardening, sawing and splitting wood. Gerald was a very hard worker with a witty, charismatic charm. He is survived by his wife Olive Rowe, his sons, daughter, grandchildren, great grand children, numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held in the summer.
