Obituary of Larry Albert Muir

July 18, 1949 – February 7, 2017 We are all saddened by the sudden passing of our dear Larry at his home in Clairmont on Feb. 7, 2017. Larry was born on July 18, 1949 in High River Alberta, and then moved with his family to Grande Prairie in 1965 where he lived most of his life. In 1994 Larry married Margaret Houle. He was Step-father to her children Nancy, Eugene and Roxanne and then later also became a Grandfather and Great Grandfather to their children. Larry was a very generous soul, always ready to share a joke and a laugh. One could see through his sometimes gruff, husky exterior to his big heart and kind soul. He was known for his wit and love of music and for his excellent spoon playing. Larry leaves behind many dear friends some of whom he fondly liked to nickname. You know who you are Troubles (Rob) and Pillsbury (Leo, the Chef, who made his home with Larry on his days off). Larry was predeceased by his wife Margaret, sister Linda, father Bert Muir and nephews Chris Muir and Brady Fournier. He leaves behind his mother Dorothy Muir, brother Bruce Muir (Anne), sister Kendra Harbour (George) as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and aunts, and close friends that will dearly miss him. Funeral Service for Larry Muir to be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 9912-101 Ave. Grande Prairie, AB on Friday Feb. 17, 2017 at 2pm. Luncheon to follow.
