Obituary of Gerald Tracy Botham

Gerald Tracy Botham passed away peacefully April 2, 2017, at the Fairview Hospital, at the age of 79. Gerald was born March 6, 1938 in Plato, Saskatchewan to Robert & Doris (Ming) Botham. He was the youngest of 11 children & took his schooling in Plato until grade 10. He then went on to get his journeyman carpenter certificate from Kelsey in Saskatoon. After some truck driving, farm work, & construction, he settled in for a career with the Eston Elrose School Division as the maintenance foreman until his retirement. From there he moved north to Fairview, Alberta & helped his daughter & son- in -law start their farm. His last couple of years were spent between North Battleford & Fairview. Gerald is survived by his sister Joyce (Mark) Biro of Nanoose Bay, BC., as well as brothers- in- law John Lesmeister of Lac La Plonge, Sk. & Bill Housen of Saskatoon, Sk.; his children Tracy (Beth) Botham of Valleyview, Ab. & Rhonda (Ken) Rewerts of Fairview, Ab.; 8 Grandchildren: Shawna Mclean, Justin Botham, Craig Botham, Tyler Botham, Hunter Botham, Ryley Rewerts, Jared Rewerts , & Logan Rewerts. He was also blessed with 8 great grandchildren: Alexander, Christian , Blakely, Keyan, Amerie, Kaedyn, Reid, & Raelyn. Gerald leaves behind many nieces, nephews, & cousins that were so good to him & whom he dearly loved. Gerald was preceeded in death by his parents Robert & Doris, as well as brothers, Robert, William, Harold, Ray, Donald, & Kenneth, & sisters Pearl, Audry, & Marjorie. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 10 at 2pm at Living Faith Chapel 1371-103 Street North Battleford.
