William (Bill) Linssen

Obituary of William (Bill) Theodore Linssen

March 24, 1932 - June 10, 2017

We invite all our friends and family to join us in a celebration of Dad's life.

Bill immigrated to Canada in 1954, where he and Iegje raised their children. His twin brother followed him not long after and they continued to find ways to get into trouble that only twins can find. Not including a brief side trip to Florida in 1970, he made Grande Prairie his permanent home until his passing. Everyone that knew Dad, knows the stories and his history. He was a kind and generous man and was never without an opinion. In his own words "See you Monday in the Funny Papers."

Bill has left a world full of memories to his son, Tony (Sandy); daughter, Karen (Danny); and son Steve.  He was blessed with 8 grandchildren, Mitchel, Molly (Francois), Alyssa, Jenise, Shayna, Mark (Wendy), Crystal (John) and Sherry (Mike); great-grandchildren, Logan, James, Emma, Jamie, Caylee, Jozsef, Edge, Maggie, Chelsie, Colton, Tyler, Braydon & Taylor.

His brother, Jan Linssen and family in the Netherlands, and his "California Connection" Luut and Reeske Siemensma and their families along with his best friend, Chris Dulk will remember him fondly.

The family would also wish a special thank you to our cousins, Renee Linssen and Trudy Wynnychuk and their families for the care and kindness they provided for Dad over the years. He truly loved them like his own and his life was fuller because they were there.

Bill was pre-deceased by his wife Iegje, his son, Paul, his parents, Antonius & Geertruida, his sister, Truus and his twin brother, Tom as well as extended family members and friends over the years.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 1:00PM  at Mission Heights Church of Christ (8321 Mission Heights Dr, Grande Prairie)
