Obituary of Donna Clara Sauverwald

March 31, 1941 – August 27, 2017

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving mother “Granny” Donna Sauverwald.

Donna was born in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan where she met and married Raymond Sauverwald on October 22, 1957. Donna enjoyed many different crafting hobbies, sewing, knitting, quilting or doing needlepoint. In the early years of their marriage, they enjoyed going dancing together, they even won a polka dance. In the years to come, they would enjoy travelling, camping and being outdoors. Donna worked over 20 years at Wally’s Grocery in Grande Prairie and would often enjoy playing and watching the curling games when she could. She was also involved with organizations such as the Army and Navy Veterans Club and the Catholic Women’s League.

“Granny” will be dearly missed by her children; Joe Sauverwald, Keith (Camilla) Sauverwald, Craig Sauverwald, Shelly (Doug) Michael, grandchildren; Stephanie, Patricia, Connor, Raymond, Amanda, Ivy and many great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her sister Elaine (Bruce) Marshall and brother George (Carol) Werner.

She is pre-deceased by her loving husband of 50 years Raymond, her parents Myrtle and Joseph Werner, her sister Dolly, brother-in-law Ken Ward and Raymond’s parents John and Elizabeth Sauverwald.

A funeral mass will be held for Donna on Saturday September 2, 2017 at 10:30am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grande Prairie, Alberta (10404 102 Street).

Memorial donations may be made in Donna’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.

The Sauverwald family would like to thank everyone who offered support and condolences in the form of calls, cards, on-line messages and visits with the passing of Donna. All are very much appreciated.
