Obituary of Larry Roy Marriner

December 13, 1941 – November 20, 2017

Larry Marriner passed away at the Grande Prairie Care Centre on November 20th at the age of 75. He was surrounded by the love of his family.
Larry (aka Beef), was born on December 13, 1941 to Bill and Pearl Marriner in Toronto, Ontario. Larry met his bride to be, Susan, in 1962 and in 1964 they were married. They went on to have three children Kim, Patti and Chris. In 1981 they moved to Grande Prairie and it soon became their forever home.  Larry worked in the insurance business for many years selling life and travel insurance.  Larry enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed classical music, woodworking, camping, kayaking, canoeing, gardening, baking, and playing crib. He was famous for his homemade pies and cookies.  Larry had a terrific sense of humour and loved to tell jokes and stories.  Larry will be deeply missed and never forgotten by family and friends.  
Larry leaves to mourn his wife of 53 years Susan Marriner, daughters Kim (Gerry) Richardson, Patti (Ben) Chabot, son Chris (Anita) Marriner.   He also leaves grandchildren - Melissa Richardson (Eric), Miranda Richardson (Colton), Shawn Richardson, Dale (Cherry) Richardson, Andrew Richardson (Meggan), Mitchell Chabot, Kayley Chabot (Darian), James Marriner and Emma Marriner and great grandchildren - Madison Richardson and Dalen Richardson
 Larry is also survived by his brother Wayne Marriner, brother in law Douglas (Mary) Mumford as well as and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many close family friends.
Larry was predeceased by his parents Bill and Pearl Marriner and in laws, Roy and Vera Mumford.
The family would like to thank Dr. Maxwell for her incredible care and kindness as well as the wonderful staff of the Grande Prairie Care Centre who provided Larry with extraordinary care over the last number of months.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
