Obituary of Vivian Shirley Farnsworth

January 10, 1962 - November 21, 2017

Vivian Shirley Farnsworth (nee Hood) of LaGlace, Alberta passed away at the young age of 55 with family by her side on November 21, 2017. Born January 10, 1962 in Dawson Creek, British Columbia to loving parents, James and Viola. She spent her youth alongside her brother Milton and sister Gwen in Slave Lake, Alberta.  This is where she developed her love of the water.

In her adult years she built many friendships and grew her family in Grande Prairie, Alberta. She found the love of her life, Floyd Farnsworth and moved to the family farm in LaGlace. Floyd and Vivian were married July 21, 1995 and were welcomed in by the large Farnsworth family with love and open arms.

Vivian was a funny, kind, and loving woman who could connect with anyone in an authentic way. Her passion for learning and art, coupled with her resiliency has inspired many.

In her passing she joins her father, James Hood; brother, Milton Hood; and her grandparents. Vivian is survived by her mother, Viola Legg; sister, Gwen Zwick; husband, Floyd Farnsworth; and her five children, Melodie (Liam) McCracken, Chris Hood, Jamie Bolstad, Julie (Tom) Beamish, and Jeff Bolstad. She will be missed and remembered fondly by her grandchildren, Christopher, Taylor, Emily, Reese, Marley, and Shaelynn; her 'step-children' Laura (Mike) and Kim (Ange); her nieces, nephew, many cousins, and all that loved her.

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday November 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church (10407 100 Street Grande Prairie) There will be an opportunity to share any memories of Vivian should you choose to.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Vivian’s name to the Beaverlodge Area Cultural Centre (Box 569, Beaverlodge, AB T0H 0C0.)
