Obituary of Doris Mae Couture

May 2, 1958: - February 16th, 2018   Age: 59

It is with heavy hearts that we mournfully announce the passing of our Wife, Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt and friend, Doris Mae Couture (nee Hauger). 

Doris  was born in Beaverlodge, Alberta and grew up on the farm outside of Valhalla, where she did her best to avoid the animals, and outdoor chores ; instead honing her skills as a caregiver to all.

She met the love of her life at a country dance, and he quickly stole her heart.  She married Réal Couture on August 20th 1977 and they went on to have 2 boys, Mark, and Serge. Her life was spent caring for all, her door was always open, and coffee was always on.

She is survived by husband Réal Couture, sons, Mark (Jocelyne) and Serge (Andrea). grandchildren: Colter, Caden, Ava, and Cohen. brothers and sisters ; Carol (Leonard) deHeus, Maureen Pfau, Ross (Judy) Hauger, Marilyn (Rick) Collins, and Geordie (Sandee) Hauger as well as numerous nieces and nephews who meant the world to her, and friends who quickly became family.

Doris was predeceased by her parents Bertha and Robert Hauger, brothers-In law Ron Pfau, Jean Duret, and her mother and father-In-law, Adel, and Ubald Couture.

Funeral Service for Doris will take place on Thursday February 22, 2018 at 10 :30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Parish, 10404 102 St, Grande Prairie with interment of urn at Grande Prairie cemetery followed by a luncheon at Bear Creek Funeral Home 11802 99 Ave, Grande Prairie.
