Obituary of George Stanley McMaster
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Stanley McMaster (A.K.A. Stan) on February 15, 2018 at the Points West Living Hospice in Grande Prairie. Stan went home to be with his lord after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Stan was a kind-hearted man who devoted much of his life to helping others eagerly. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He always had a smile on his face and loved to sit and chat to anyone who would lend an ear. One of his greatest passions was cars, he would often be found improving upon his beloved Volkswagen rabbit. He also loved to tinker with anything electronic and was often convinced that he could make it run better. At the end of a long day he would often treat himself to a big bowl of ice cream as this was his favorite treat in the world.
Stan is survived by his three girls Roxanne (Christian), Audrey (Steve) and Michelle. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters Bill (Dawn), Tim (Wendy), Kathy (Mike) and Alisha (David). He leaves behind seven grandchildren whom all were the light of his life and he was so very proud of them, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his very good friends Henry and Judy who he often spoke of as family.
Stan is predeceased by his parents Ken and Maureen as well as his stepmother Pearl.
A gathering of friends and family to be held at a later date.
