I spoke with Rita soon after I heard the news. There are no words. Our family has lost a beautiful soul. I am so thankful Gwen was at the last family reunion with Dylan. She was so excited to be with so many of her relatives. I vividly recall her smiling face and her laugh. May all who knew her remember those as well. Her journey on the Earthly plane is done. Dylan, there is one more angel in Heaven now. She will be with you in the small things and in the big ones. Rita (and Ed), as a mother, my heart aches for you. Know we are with you in spirit. Donald (and Kathy) hugs to you as well.

It was with shock and sadness that we heard of the sudden passing of
Gwen. Although we did not keep in touch over the years we always asked Dylan to pass on our kind regards to her. She did a wonderful job with Dylan and he is going to miss her allot. Dylan will always be part of our family and he knows we all love and care for him
No parent should have to suffer losing a child, regardless of age. Gwen is in a much better place now. Let your faith help you heal from the loss of your daughter. God Bless

Words cannot express how deeply sad and heartbroken I am over the passing of not just my friend, but in my heart, my sister Gwen...We had so many happy times together, we were always laughing and she could always make even something mundane as grocery shopping fun..Gwen had the biggest heart and never hesitated to help anyone that needed...She was such an amazing mom to Dylan who she loved more than life...If you were loved by Gwen you were lucky, she wasn't afraid to show how she felt and that went double if she was upset with you..It never lasted long though, her heart was always open to forgiveness..Her life was cut way too short and it's hard to imagine that my beautiful friend went home...I'm only consoled somewhat by knowing that although I lost my best friend, I gained a guardian angel..My most heartfelt condolences to her son Dylan and all her friends and family members at this difficult time...I love you Gwen, until we meet again xoxo

Stephen Mah posted a condolence

Good day,
To introduce myself, my name is Stephen Mah. I was a former student of Kateri Mission School, and St Joseph Catholic School. It was there where I had the privilage of working alongside with Gwen during our time of learning.
Although I was not an active friend of Gwen, both of us mutually respected each other. During my learning years, I have known Gwen as a friendly, yet active person.
My most vivid memory of Gwen was when we were presenting our speeches about the dangers of drinking and driving to the whole school. She was one of 6 (including myself) chosen to make a presentation. She made a very impassioned and emotional speech that has affected many of the audience and has garnered alot of respect from both her fellow students, teachers, and myself. At times during her speech, she was so emotionally attached to her speech that at times she cried (or whimpered) from the weight of her speech... all the while people listened attentively... such was the character of Gwen.
Gwen was also a very popular student, especially among the "girl" groups, but she also appears to stand on her own side as opposed to "the other side", which hints at a rebellish side of her... kind if a james Dean mentality. She was very intellegent and always is approachable and friendly to all, no matter if the person was in the "in" crowd or outcast.
It saddens me that she is not among us in the living years, and it makes it all the more heartbreaking that this year would have been her 30th anniversary since our grad back in 1988.
I will honor her by paying a moment of silence and say a tribute to her on our 30th anniversary grad reunion. She may be gone, she will never be forgotten.
I hope my fond memories of Gwen and all the fond memories of all the times you have spent together with Gwen brings comfort to you; and that time will heal your heart.
Lastly, Chinese tradition states, when those who you love has departed, that when you say goodbye, to eat a piece of candy, so that the words you say to her spirit is sweet and from the heart.
