February 23, 1950 – April 4, 2018

Our mom was a romantic with an eye for beauty, she was poetic in her writing and artistic in her vision. When she took the time for herself she created the most beautiful watercolours and drawings, and in her list and letter writing she strived for an elegant hand and proper grammar. She was a wonderful cook and her food always nourished our souls as well as our bodies, even something as simple as a poached egg on toast was done with love and was comforting. She loved to travel and see new things and taste exotic dishes but took the most pleasure from simple things like gardening, cuddling babies and furry creatures, picnics at the beach and rich cream in a strong cup of coffee. She was a loving mother and Ama, a good friend, a compassionate person, an artist and a soul mate. She worried that she hadn’t done enough in this life but to us she was a beacon and I feel we will be little boats bobbing around looking for shore for a while. She has struggled with cancer for far too long and we are glad that the suffering is over, but we are so sad she left us so soon.

Left to mourn is her loving friend Frank Kotnik, her daughter Wendi and husband Kelsey and their children Sheldon, Ross and Amber Nordell. Daughter Keisha and husband Ken and their son Justin Patenaude, son Torrey and wife Carrie and their son Oliver Willett, brother Mark and Jackie Jefkins, Jessica and Blake, baby Aubrey, Adam and Raissa, brother Keith and Joy Jefkins, Brett, Gaye and Alyssa. Danny and Kim, Sam and Mason,  along with many extended family and friends.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out or travelled to be with mom during this time, she had many wonderful visits at the hospice, it has meant so much to her and all of us.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers our mom would honestly be best remembered by small acts of kindness and generosity. Love.
