Obituary of Eileen Gertrude Wowk

December 29, 1944 – July 16, 2018

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Eileen Wowk at home in Grande Prairie on July 16, 2018 after a short and courageous battle with cancer.

Eileen leaves to mourn her husband Glen; son Christopher, his wife Daana and grandchildren Ashleigh and Jayce; daughter, Katherine and her husband Todd and three grandcats Max, Sam and Mick; her step-father Bernard O’Reilly; her sisters Beulah, Jeannette and Cecile and their families; her good friends Michelle, Diane and Mary.

Eileen worked for the Grande Prairie Public Library and the Grande Prairie Roman Catholic Separate School Division where she touched all she met with her motherly charm, lively wit and ready smile.

The family extends its deepest gratitude to the medical staff of Unit 5 North at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Grande Prairie, the Cross Cancer Institute and the Scott and Brown Families Advanced Imaging and Gamma Knife Centre at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, and Grande Prairie Homecare.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
