Obituary of Malcolm Ross Minnick
August 14, 1944 – July 31, 2018
The family of Malcolm “Mickey” Ross Minnick announce his sudden passing on July 31, 2018 at 73 years young.
Mickey was born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan in August of 1944. He resided in many places within Alberta as a child but after he married Astrid they moved to the Peace Country in search of farm land. He finally found what he wanted in Bonanza where he enjoyed being on the tractor, clearing his thoughts.
In order to pay for this beautiful land, he spent many years in the oil and gas patch. When he was at his favorite coffee shops he enjoyed talking with the many friends he had made over the years.
Music was a passion of Mickey’s, whether it be listening to the Lawrence Welk Show, Don Messer or swinging around the dance floor, especially to music of The Emeralds.
Mickey leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Astrid; daughters, Alberta (Gary) Chard, and Marlene Minnick; and granddaughters, Shayna Minnick and Lauryn Davis.
He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Flora Minnick.
A Celebration of Life Tea will be held on September 15, 2018 at the Senior Citizen’s Hall, 1101 McKellar Avenue, Dawson Creek, from 2-4pm BC Time, where all friends are invited to attend.
