Obituary of Mary Edith Fiddler Jr.

February 17, 1948 – August 19, 2018

It is with heavy hearts that we mournfully announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Mary Edith Fiddler Jr. on August 19, 2018 at the QE11 Hospital in Grande Prairie, at 70 years of age.

Mary was born in Timmins, Ontario in 1948 and regardless of where Mary was living, Timmins was where she called home.  Mary worked hard her entire life, even in her retirement.  Mary will be remembered for her kind, caring and feisty personality.  She loved cooking, baking, gardening, knitting slippers playing Bingo, fishing and most of all to spend time with her family, grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.

Mary (Mom) was a caretaker of all; she loved doing things for people to make them happy which in return made her happy.  She was very loved by all that knew her.

Mary will always be lovingly remembered by her son, Rob Verge (Danielle), Tammy Cutts, Brian Cutts (Kim); her grandchildren who are very saddened at the loss of their Nana and will miss her love, big smile and warm hugs; Aaron Huebschwerlen (Hayley), Robert-John Verge, Jade King, Mya Verge, step grandchildren who came into Nana’s life 8 years ago and she welcomed them with open arms and loved them just the same; Josh Kelhler, Cole Kelhler (Kori), Mikayla Steinke, Dustin Cutts, Leo Cashman, Annamae Cutts, Joshua Caines and Amanda Badiuk.

She is also survived by her sisters Laura (Ted) McGarry, Nancy (Joe) Harry, Gwen (Gord) Deforge, Darlene (Matt) Hopson, Bonnie (Seppo) Vateja, Cindy (Bill) Morgan and numerous nieces, nephews, great nephews and great nieces.

Mary was predeceased by her mom and dad, Mary Sr. and Robert Fiddler, her grandparents, nieces Donna Deforge, Katelyn Sampson and her nephew Mark Letang.

We love you Mom, our hearts are broken. Rest easy, we all love you and you will be forever in our hearts. Until we meet in heaven.

A Gathering of Friends will be held in Mary’s garden at 28 Triple L Trailer Court, on Saturday, August 25th from 12 to 2 pm.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Timmins, ON at a later date.
