Obituary of Hilda Mary Lizotte

July 6, 1936 – October 20, 2018

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Hilda Lizotte on October 20, 2018.

Hilda was born on July 6, 1936 in Fort Vermilion, Alberta. She met and married Warren (Reggie) Lizotte on February 16, 1952. Six children followed then seventeen grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren. She was so blessed to have this many in her family.

In their early marriage, Hilda and Warren farmed in Fort Vermilion. In 1960, they moved to the Grande Prairie area and then to Valleyview. Hilda enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing, camping, hunting and had a trapline in the Red Earth area, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Another one of her favourite pastimes was to play Bridge and Canasta.

Hilda is survived by her children Lena (Delmer) Lunam, Lorraine Lizotte and Laurel Lizotte, grandchildren Michelle (Howard) McCullough, Wendy (Kevin) Hughes, Shelby (Rachel) Lizotte, Nicole (Ben) Lizotte, Dodi Lizotte, Terry Lizotte, Reggie (Tara) Lizotte, Robert Lunam, Mitch Lunam, Delena Lunam, Shaylene Lunam, Ann (Robin) Sutherland, Natalie Viczko, Anthony Viczko, Victoria (Jose) Viczko, Curtis (Ashley) Fowler and Kristin Abma, sister Sadie Mitchell, brother Sandy Mitchell, and many great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband Warren (Reggie), infant daughter Ann, daughter Loretta, son Vern Lizotte and daughter-in-law Lorna Lizotte.

A Funeral Service for Hilda will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Bear Creek Funeral Home/Richmond Reception Centre 11808 99 Avenue Grande Prairie, Alberta at 1:00pm.
