Obituary of Fernand Francois Thibeault
It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Fern Thibeault at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Grande Prairie on November 15, 2018 after a lengthy illness.
He is survived by his loving wife Rachel of 59 years and his children Jocelyne(Simonde), Jos, Carole(Blake), brother Ray(Claire) and sisters Hilda and Marguerite. He was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Dad was born in Codesa on September 13, 1936 and resided in the Eaglesham area where he farmed until the age of 59. Fern and Rachel retired and moved to Grande Prairie where they continue to reside.
Dad was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, and fish. Many of the family vacations were spent fishing. Each of the grandkids fondly remembers vacations with Grandpa in the motorhome.
Dad’s friends will remember him for being loyal and genuine, once a friend a friend for life. He always said it like it was…good or bad and many will remember him for his constant teasing, and playful manner.
Dad will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A great man who will never be forgotten. We are sure that there are numerous stories and memories that will live on forever. Any stories that you may have of our Dad, please share them below. We would love to hear them no matter how colorful.
The family would like to thank the ladies of 5North at the hospital. You are very special ladies who took excellent care of our Dad. We would also like to thank Dr. Bartie for his epic care. Our family will be forever grateful.
As of Dad’s wishes, there will be no service.
