Obituary of Harold Douglas Purcha
December 25, 1942 – February 21, 2019
Harold Purcha, longtime resident of Watino, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2019 at the age of 76 at the Prairie Lake Hospice in Grande Prairie after a courageous battle with cancer.
Harold was born December 25, 1942 at home in Tangent, Alberta and attended Fox Creek School and Eaglesham School in his younger years. He worked on oil rigs in the winter months and farmed at Watino.
He married Jacqueline Legault on July 3, 1970.
Harold is survived by wife Jacqueline, his son Darrell of Spruce Grove, his daughter Tina (Craig) Skinner of Grande Prairie, and his two grandsons Aiden, and Tanner Skinner. He is also survived by his siblings Elizabeth Anderson, Stuart (Alice) Purcha, Beverley (Bruce) Dombrova, Caroline Purcha, Sandra (Marcel) Roy, many nieces, nephews, family friends, and his dog Jess.
He was predeceased by his sister Joan Sawka, and his parents Janet and Walter Purcha.
At Harold’s request no funeral services will be conducted. A family gathering will be held at a later date in his memory.
