Obituary of Nels Martin Fonnebo

November 11, 1981 – April 20, 2019
It is with heavy, grieving hearts that we let you know that Nels has passed on. He leaves a big hole for us, his family, friends and his community to fill but he would not wish this for any of us. He opened his heart to all of us, he shared his soul and everyone shared back. We thank you for this. He achieved 9 years clean and sober; he has won his battle over drugs and alcohol.
Nels had a passion for precious stones, was a lover of superheroes and enjoyed magic cards since high school. He was a member of the Grande Prairie swim team.
Nels has left his children, Taylar and Gabriel behind to carry on. He has left his brothers and sisters with the knowledge that he loved them all unconditionally. This is a small picture of our Nels; a beautiful soul. Please give your loved ones a hug from all of us.
Nels will forever be in the hearts of his mother, Laurel (Norm); his siblings Roberta, John (Susan), Valerie, Kyla (Wayne), Bridget (Karl), Erik, his father Knut (Loriann), his siblings Jarad, Stein, Kristina, Breanne, Karissa, many nieces, nephews and family in Norway.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents John and Val Martin, his grandpa Nils and nephew Chris.
A Trust will be set up for Gabriel and Taylar’s future education at the TD Bank and information will follow when complete.
A viewing for Nels will be held on Saturday, April 27th at People’s Church, 11850 108 Street, Grande Prairie at 12pm with a service to follow at 1pm.
