Born and raised in Grande  Prairie, Doug Friesen was working as a Funeral Director when he became increasingly aware of the changing needs and expectations of the Peace Country and its families. With this in mind, he founded Bear Creek Funeral Home. With their commitment to a high standard of care of individuals, families, and the community as a whole, he and his wife Eunice set out to make available a genuine, family-centered funeral service option. This vision remains as Bear Creek Funeral Home has expanded to Fairview to better serve the north Peace Country. They have become known as the funeral service provider of choice for families seeking compassionate and personal service with exceptional value. The community has noticed and responded with gratitude as Bear Creek Funeral Home was awarded as Small Business of the Year (2016) by the Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce, and was one of only four Alberta businesses to be considered for the prestigious Premier's Award of Distinction in 2017.
