May 30, 2019

Bear Creek Funeral Home and Edmonton Granite Memorials have donated a commemorative tree plaque paying tribute to the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls 2+.

This tree will become a special place for those affected by the loss of a sister, and we are honoured to be part of such an important event. Thank you to everyone involved in this project.

CEMETERY CLEAN UP 2019

Thank you to the handful of volunteers who helped at the Hythe cemetery clean up today and to those families who had already done some graves. Also to Bear Creek Funeral Home for sending out a crew to level headstones. Special thanks to Deb Balderston for organizing and always keeping us inline with grant applications, etc and to Bill Guise for the endless hours he spends mowing at the cemetery. Keep your eyes open for another cleanup in June as the grass never stops at this time of year. Remember many hands make light work!!

ART GALLERY OF GRANDE PRAIRIE

The Gallery proudly installed this piece from The Permanent Collection, Barry Hodgson’s ‘Arbutus’ at the Bear Creek Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. The Funeral Home was a proud sponsor of the last exhibition, ‘The Rich Interior Life’, and so is the latest participant in the Gallery’s Temporary Art Loan Program which places major Collection pieces in the community.

NORTHERN SPIRIT LIGHTSHOW

Kolton, Heather, Hannah, and Jen spent some time at the Northern Spirit Light Show handing out hot chocolate, apple cider, and accepting donations for the Peace Draft Horse Association.

Doug and Eunice participated at the Walk to Remember 2018, a memorial event for pregnancy and infant loss support. Over 100 babies are named along the walk.
