Obituary of Shaun Morin

February 22, 1979 – December 20, 2016 It is with great sadness and disbelief that the family of Shaun Morin announces his passing after a brief illness, on Tuesday, December 20th, 2016, at the age of 37. He was surrounded by close family during his passing. He will be lovingly remembered by his mom Linda and his step-dad Cody; his dad Darren and his step-mom Linda; brother Shane (Heather) along with their children Adyn, Rylen, Dylan, Maddyn and Bryn; sister Cassandra (Steven) along with her children Carsyn and Kaelyn; Step-brother Jeremy (Brianna); Step-sister Jenna (Josh). Shaun was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Maurice and Rose Morin; his Auntie Lorry Hall. Shaun was a very independent person. He just celebrated his fifth year at No Frills in early December. As Shane elegantly says, he was the “cart transfer technician”. He was so proud of himself for working there; he would count down the days to his anniversary starting in January! He was also part of Signature Support Services for most of his adult life. He was part of an amazing team there that supported him in the community, as well as job search and volunteer projects. Throughout these years he has made many friends, most of them being women I’m sure. Shaun was a veteran to Camp Tamarack, having spent a week there every year for close to 30 years. He loved going and spending his time with his close friends, doing crafts and most importantly the talent show! His smile could light up any room and his thoughtfulness was inspiring. His sense of humour was epidemic. People who met Shaun wanted to take part in whatever he was engaged in. His love of hockey and the WWE were always a topic of conversation with him, of which he was extremely knowledgeable. He was never afraid to share his opinion regarding how great the Oilers were and would always defend how tough The Rock was. If you had the opportunity to meet Shaun, you were very fortunate. He was an amazing son, brother, uncle and friend. Shaun will be missed by everyone that had the honour of meeting him. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, December 28th at 11:00 am at the Entrec Centre in Evergreen Park, Grande Prairie. Guests are encouraged to bring along written memories and/or pictures for a scrap book that will be available. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on Shaun’s behalf to Special Olympics Grande Prairie (http://www.specialolympics.ab.ca/donate) Care entrusted to Bear Creek Funeral Home 780-830-7742 www.bearcreekfuneral.com
