David Edward Palser
October 25,1931 – September 08,2017
David Palser, longtime resident of Debolt/Grande Prairie, Alberta passed after a long illness with dementia on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Grande Prairie Care Centre, at the age of 85.
David was born at home in White Mountain, AB to his parents Lillian and Thomas Palser.
David was the second youngest of the thirteen children his parents had raised and was the last survivor of his immediate family.
David met his loving wife, Alice, in Edmonton and they were married in Debolt, Alberta on June 30, 1973 and were married for 38 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Alice, his daughter Roxanne Walsh, who resides in Nova Scotia, and many nieces and nephews.
David joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1949 and retired in 1978. Because of an eye condition David was unable to become a pilot, so he then entered into the safety system department of the RCAF until he retired.
Upon the retirement from RCAF, David and Alice decided to move to their family acreage in Debolt and he started his new career with Swan City Chrysler as a salesman. David being a great man of fixing anything also helped Alice in her business repairing sewing machines.
Leaving the acreage in 2011 and choosing their home in Grande Prairie gave Dave and Alice more time to spend on each other and their friends.
A tribute to David will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion (9912-101 Avenue) on Friday September 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Renovations Fund at the Royal Canadian Legion of 9912-101 Avenue, Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 0X8.
