Sandy, Michael and Teri Our hearts are breaking for you with your loss. We remember the fun times we had with your family while we were all stationed in Kimberley. The cross country skiing, awesome camping trips and great bonfires and most of all the times we spent together having family meals on those special days. Bret and Heather both remember the fun times spent with Teri and and Michael. Bret riding motorcycles with Michael and Heather spending such wonderful times with Teri. These memories will always be in our hearts and as you face the times ahead, always know that Jim is close by and keeping watch over you. I can honestly say that I consider Jim to be one of the "good guys" and one of the best fathers that I have ever known. we will be thinking of you tomorrow and pray that God will keep you in His arms and give you strength as you face the coming days. All our love Janice and Terry

Sandy and family, please accept our deepest condolences. I arrived in FSJ in 1993, as a 21 year old baby Mountie. As my first NCO Jim was highly influential in shaping my career as well as guiding me as a young man. While I was deathly afraid of the big guy in the corner office he was always so caring and compassionate. Except the time My watch mates and I switched the safe in his office with the one from the GIS office. We thought we had pulled a good one on the boss, but the joke was on me. Jim was fast to figure out the prank so he turned the table. He called me into his office and chewed my butt off. I thought I was getting fired, I had never been so scared. Conversely, I recall the time when I asked Jim for permission to propose to Kim in red serge at the Edmonton Airport, he treated me like a son. Kim and I often reflect on and greatly cherish our time in FSJ. I have very fond memories of Jim while socializing at the variety of office functions and playing hockey. I recall when I got into the Police Dog Service in 2001, Jim had retired by then. I saw Jim at the hockey riink and I was so excited to share the news with him. While Jim wanted me to pursue options outside of PDS he was still happy and proud of me. We will greatly miss Jim, but have many fond memories.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you!
