Obituary of James Clifford Donald
March 12, 1946 – March 28, 2018
The family of James Clifford Donald sadly announce his passing on March 28th, 2018, at the age of 72, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, after not having the opportunity to battle the cancer that took his life.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Sandy, his daughter Teri (Al), son Michael and three special grandchildren, Keyana, Alex and Tyler. Jim is also survived by his only sibling Blaine Donald of Edmonton, his mother-in-law, Edna Pomeroy, sisters-in-law Ginny Moon, Pat Palmer and Darlene Anderson, as well as many nieces, nephews and close cousins in Canada and in Scotland.
Jim joined the RCMP in 1965 straight out of high school, and went into training in Ottawa. His first posting was to Fort St. John, B.C. and he spent his 32 year career in British Columbia living in small communities, Jim was transferred back to Fort St. John in 1991 as the Staff Sergeant in charge, in 1996 Jim retired from the RCMP.
After retiring from the RCMP Jim started a new career as a Safety representative for Swanberg Bros. Trucking in Fort St. John and then moved to Grande Prairie with them 2002. Until his death Jim still worked as a safety consultant.
Jim loved to spend time with family and friends, camping, golfing, fishing or whatever else someone invited him to do. In his day Jim was an avid hockey player and curler. He will be missed.

A Celebration of Life for Jim will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 7th, 2018 at Bear Creek Funeral Home-Richmond Reception Center 11802 99 Avenue, in Grande Prairie.
