Obituary of Allen David Gruenig

February 8, 1956 – May 27, 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Allen passed away peacefully with his daughter Nicole and his sister Sandy at his side after a brief battle with cancer.

Allen deeply loved his daughter Nicole and grandchildren Isabelle and Samuel - there was nothing Allen would not do for them and spent every spare minute with them.

Allen touched the hearts of everyone he met. He faced many challenges in his life and handled them with resilience, hope and bravery.  His strength, love, laughter and humor will forever be a part of our lives and heart.

Allen will be sadly missed by his daughter Nicole (Ian) Munsie, grandchildren Isabelle and Samuel, parents Art & Lois Gruenig, sisters Sherry (Steve) Lawrence, Sandy (Duane) Huebner, brother Darrel, many nieces and nephews, his aunts Alexa, Peggy and Doris, as well as numerous cousins and many friends.

A celebration of life will held in Calgary at a later date.
