Obituary of Margot (Tress) Theresa Gregg

July 13, 1950 – August 18, 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margot Theresa (Tress) Gregg of Grande Prairie, Alberta.  She passed peacefully on August 18, 2019 in Prairie Lake Hospice.

Tress was born in Davidson, Saskatchewan, the third child of Ken and Georgina Sampson and grew up on the family farm in rural Davidson.  She attended Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Art and Science, where she graduated with her diploma in Nursing.  Later in life she went on to become a Nurse Practitioner.

Tress moved to Calgary, Alberta where she met Monte and they were married in 1977.  During their 42 years of marriage they adopted 2 children, Darren and Corrine and the family lived in Calgary, Rainbow Lake, Lloydminster and then retired in Grande Prairie to be near their children.

She was always very involved in the community, always volunteering for a variety of community organizations.  When she wasn’t volunteering, she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening and spending time with family and friends.  She also enjoyed the yearly vacations she and Monte took to Mexico.

Tress will always be remembered for her loving heart, her compassion towards others and her infectious laughter. She is survived by Monte, her husband of 42 years, son Darren Gregg (Grande Cache), daughter Corrine Gregg (James) Grande Prairie, brother Norman Sampson (Lynne), Davidson, Saskatchewan,  brother- in- law Warren (Bonnie) Gregg, Guelph, Ontario and many other family and friends.

Tress was predeceased by her father, Kenneth Sampson, mother Georgina Sampson, sister Karen Sampson and her mother and father-in-law John & Mildred Gregg.

A Celebration of Life for Tress will be held on Friday, September 6th at 1pm at Bear Creek Funeral Home 11802 99 Avenue, Grande Prairie.  All family and friends are welcome to attend.
