Obituary of Sue Arends

August 30, 1954 – August 27, 2019

Sue Arends passed away very peacefully with family by her side on August 27, 2019 at the age of 64 years.

Sue was born and raised in Vancouver, BC but moved to Jasper, AB where she spent most of her life until moving to Grande Prairie in 2018. She loved family gatherings, playing cards, scrabble games, travelling and most of all – big belly laughs. It was remarkable how she was able to see humour in everything and keep such a bright smile on despite how rough some days were for her. She had an incredible talent to meet friends wherever she went.

She is survived by her daughter Diana (Scott), son Jamie (Sammi), sisters Joan (Ross) and Marilyn (Barry) as well as numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. She will be missed by so many.

Sue was pre-deceased by her husband Raymond James Arends, her parents Merrill and Kathleen Henderson.

At Sue’s request, there will be no service, but maybe raise a glass of Guiness or a pineapple smoothie to her at your next family gathering or card game.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Jasper Yellowhead Museum and Archives, 400 Bonhomme Street, Jasper, Alberta T0E 1E0 or an SPCA or animal shelter of your choice.
