Obituary of William (Bill) Broadhurst

May 18, 1937 – August 31, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad, William (Bill) Broadhurst of South Surrey, BC. Dad was born on May 18, 1937 in Stockport, England and passed away peacefully in the QE II Hospital in Grande Prairie, Alberta on Saturday, August 31, 2019.

William grew up in Stockport, England where he met and married Vera (Louden) and started their family.  With their three children, they took an opportunity to move to Hong Kong for four years, and then made the decision to emigrate to Canada in 1967.  The family lived in Calgary, and then in 1981 William and Vera moved to British Columbia.

William is survived by many loved ones. His son Antony (Michele) and their two children Daniel and Tegan of Calgary, Alberta, his son Chris of Grande Prairie, Alberta and his two children William and Patrick of Calgary, Alberta and his daughter Janette (Stephen) McCrea  of Grande Prairie, Alberta and their two children Tanya (Jason) Chartrand of Calgary, Alberta and Tyson (Amanda) of Grande Prairie, Alberta. William is also survived by three Great Grandsons, Colton, Emmitt and Holden and his brother John (Marie) of Chester, England and sister-in-law May (Les) Potts of Poynton, England and several nieces, nephews and cousins in England.

William was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Vera (2010) and his parents William (1972) and Winifred (Barber) (1970).

No funeral will be held at Dad’s request.
