August 8, 1957 – December 16, 2019 Deirdre Garrida, loving mother and grandmother,passed away peacefully on December 16th, 2019 at the age of 62. Deirdre was born on August 8th,1957 in Port Alberni, BC to Calvin Sr. and Geraldine Abbott. She spent her early years on Vancouver Island and southern BC. She was married at 19 and later gave birth to her daughter, Dawn Michelle Garrida, and they later moved to the Grande Prairie area where she spent the remainder of her life. She thoroughly enjoyed horseback riding and travelling and was never afraid to tackle any challenge she was faced with. She is survived by her brothers Morgan (Ava), Calvin Jr. (Leslie), Daniel (Maria) and David; daughter Dawn (Andy) as well as grandchildren Kyla, Hailey and Rylan and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and sisters Sherri and Sheleigh. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 11th, 2020 at 1:30 pm at Bear Creek Funeral Home, 11802 99 Avenue, Grande Prairie, Alberta.
