May 14, 1936 – February 13, 2020 It is with heavy hearts the family of Elizabeth (Bess) Deboer announce her passing after a hard-fought battle with dementia. Elizabeth arrived in Grande Cache in 1969 with 8 children in tow. She was an active member in the community and founded many lifelong friendships. She was especially proud to be recognized by the Town of Grande Cache as a ‘sixty niner” founding family. Elizabeth is survived by James (Lynn) Petrie, Edmonton AB; Allie (Denise) Petrie, Grande Cache AB; Pam (Kenton) Fehr, Grande Cache AB; Bernie (Kathy) Petrie, Grande Cache AB; Cathy (Lloyd) Daniels, Grande Prairie AB; Rick (Carolyn) Petrie, Grande Prairie AB; Sandra (Lloyd) Rusk, Hinton AB; Lori (Sandy) Schultz, Blind Bay BC; as well as 23 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Ivor Deboer. A Funeral service for Elizabeth will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 12:00PM at Holy Cross Parish, Grande Cache AB.
