Obituary of Frank J. Relland
Frank was born in Horse Lake, Saskatchewan and grew up as a farm boy, driving tractor and bulldozer by the time he was ten years old. Frank married Lucille in 1946 and they had eight children. Over the years he worked in a sawmill, as foreman in road construction and in logging camps, and then at a canola plant in Nipawin, Saskatchewan before moving to Sexsmith, Alberta in 1976. There he worked as a plant foreman at the canola plant until he retired for the first time at the age of 65. He went back to work as a road representative selling culverts and finally retired for good at the age of 72 years. Frank belonged to the Knights of Columbus for many years. He enjoyed playing cards, camping and building things.
Frank is survived by his wife Lucille, daughters: Theresa (Dennis), Pat, Geri (Royce), sons: Wilf (Muriel), Don, Bob (Donna), Bruce (Ruth), and son-in-law Greg, grandchildren: Darcy, Cindy, Darrel, Anne Maria, Chris, Patti-Jo, David, Brad, Shannon, Jeff, Rae Ann, Brodie, Charlie, Sabrina, Bruce Jr., Genevieve, Katie, numerous great-grandchildren, and his siblings Paul (Sharron) and Suzanne. He was pre-deceased by his daughter Annette, great-grandson Jake Noonan, parents Pierre and Cornelia Relland, and his brothers Pete, Louis, and George, and numerous in-laws.
A prayer service and viewing will be held at Immaculate Conception Church on Tuesday, July 14 at 7PM. A funeral service will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Sexsmith on Wednesday, July 15 at 10:30 AM with lunch to follow. Immaculate Conception Church is located at 9928 97 Street, Sexsmith Alberta.
