Obituary of James Scarrow

Jim Scarrow was born May 27, 1941 and passed away at the Queen Elizabeth 11 Hospital on July 15, 2015. Jim was born in Brantford, Ontario and moved with his family to the United States in 1952. Jim completed his schooling and then joined the Army Reserves where he became a top sharp shooter. He later joined his Dad and his brother John in the carpentry business where they built many homes in the Yreka, California area. Married and with two children, Jim moved his family to Sexsmith, Alberta in 1969 where he bought a farm and with the help of his Dad, built his own log home. Jim married Margaret in 1977 and raised Registered Quarter Horses and raced together from 1979 to 1985. Jim was employed with Tissington Builders when he arrived in Canada, and later worked for various other builders in the area. Jim once again changed his profession to Trackhoe Operator and his last employer, before retirement was Ritchie Brothers Contrators. Jim loved fishing and hunting. Jim is survived by his wife of 38 years, Margaret (Currie), son James Carlton Scarrow, Portland, Oregon; daughter Candace Mae (Mitch) Butigan, Fairbanks Alaska; Grandson Clinton(Jackie) Scarrow, children Parris and Annalei Egan, Minnesota; Granddaughter Jessica (Ryan) Newberry and children Logan and Kaden, Michigan; brother John (Stacy) Scarrow, Puntaigo, Florida; Sister Donna (David) Patrick, Yreka, California; step-children David (Valerie) Luft, Calgary, Alberta; Rochelle (Rick) Villeneuve, Grande Prairie, Alberta; Lorrie (Earl) Langston, Leduc, Alberta. Jim was pre-deceased by his mother Jeanne Mary (Parlo) Scarrow and Herbert Carlton Scarrow of Yreka, California. A Celebration of Life for Jim Scarrow will be held on Tuesday, July 21st, 2pm at the Webster Hall, north of Sexsmith. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
