Obituary of Katherine Sharon Fleming
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Katherine Sharon Fleming on Saturday June 8, 2013 at the age of 54 years. She leaves to mourn her loving husband David Tremaine; son Joseph Tremaine; step-daughters Kyla Tremaine, Shayla Tremaine; parents Hubert and Sheila Fleming, sisters: Debbie (Ron) Servage, Gayle (Pierre) Poirier; nieces: Ronda (Mike) Carpenter, Meghan Poirier ; nephews: Chad Servage, Patrick Poirier and great nephew, Byron Carpenter; mother-in-law Lee Tremaine; sister-in-law, Judy Tremaine (Gary) Grendys; brother-in-law, Rick (Pam) Tremaine; nieces: Amber (Chris) Cherry, Lia Grendys, nephews: Matthew Munro, Adam Grendys and Michael Tremaine; great nephews, Riley and Cameron Cherry; great niece, Ava Cherry. Katherine is also survived by adopted family, Kathy Tretiak (Geoff Temple, Mishonne and Maggie) and many, many close friends. Katherine was pre-deceased by her sister-in-law Virginia Hogg, brother-in-law Roy Hogg, and father-in-law, George Tremaine.
Katherine was born in Winchester Ontario and grew up on the family farm in Chrysler, Ontario. She graduated from St Lawrence College in 1979 and moved to Alberta in 1981 to continue her career in Human Services. Katherine introduced the concept of personal planning to the Northwest in 1986, after which she spent her career advocating for people. She worked tirelessly facilitating her many communities. Her infectious laugh announced her arrival at gatherings both social and professional. Katherine made friends wherever she went. She will be missed……
A Celebration of Katherine’s Life will be held on Thursday June 13th, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Grande Prairie Elks Hall, 10806 106 Street.
