Obituary of Wendy P. Jackson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Wendy Patricia Jackson, of Spirit River, passed away at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, on Sunday, July 26th, 2015. Wendy was born in Edmonton on September 7, 1954 to Betty and Wally Armitage. She graduated high school from Spirit River Secondary School in 1973. On April 7 of the same year, Wendy married her husband, Ross. Wendy will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 42 years, Ross Jackson and their three sons: Bill (Brittney) Jackson, Chad Jackson, and Vern (Lacey) Jackson; grandsons Carter, Sawyer, Drew, and Nate; sister Wanda, brother Wally, and their families; as well as numerous extended family members, dear friends, and her loyal sidekick, Murphy. Wendy worked for many years as a teacher’s aide at the Woking School, Spirit River Elementary School, and Central Peace High School. She was an avid reader and enjoyed being outside gardening, listening to music, playing any kind of game and had a great love for animals. Her compassion, loyalty and high regard for others made her a friend to so many. She was a true “people person”. Wendy’s most treasured memories were the times that she spent with friends and family. She loved celebrating holidays with her loved ones and playing with her grandsons. Wendy is pre-deceased by her parents Wally and Betty Armitage, as well as grandparents Ida and Asa Armitage, Gladys and Bill Tutton, and Frank Moravec. All are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 11:00am held at the Rycroft Ag Building. Wendy will be laid to rest next to her mother at the White Mountain Cemetery in a private family and close friends gathering. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Spirit River Municipal Library. Care entrusted to Bear Creek Funeral Home Grande Prairie 780-830-7742 www.bearcreekfuneral.com
