Born February 21, 1932 in Grande Prairie and peacefully passed away, surrounded by Family, on December 7th, 2015 at the age of 83 years. A Most Beautiful Woman/Mother/Mother-in-law/Grandmother/Great Grandmother/Friend, Sister and Aunt who loved to dance, golf, camp, travel, volunteer, play card games, curl, quad, and most of all to laugh and enjoy family gatherings where stories were made to be forever retold. She inspired us, nurtured us, cooked for us, cheered for us and shook her finger at us often! She picked us up when we hurt, kicked us in the butt when needed it; but most of all loved each and every one of us. Barb dedicated her whole life to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews. She was a valued member of the Department of Highways and was recognized for her excellent long service by the Premier of Alberta. She volunteered many hours of service to the Golden Age Centre, the Grande Prairie Curling Club and the Alberta Winter and Summer Games. She gave countless hours of service to causes that were close to her heart such as Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Meals on Wheels and especially Parkinson’s where she was responsible for organizing the Annual Parkinson’s Walk. She was on a championship Whist Team in the summer and winter games. She enjoyed an active life of dancing, golfing, curling, and baking for her precious family. She was truly Cherished by this Big Loving Family!!!
