It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Kay Sornberger in Grande Prairie on January 14, 2016. Kay loved to cook and enjoyed the outdoors. Camping and fishing amongst the wildlife and flowers were favourite pastimes. She worked as a grocery cashier before she started her own cleaning business where she employed a staff of ten. Kay will be missed by her husband of twenty five years, Mike; her sons Rob Murphy, Michael J Sornberger and her daughter, Sam Weber; and her grandchildren Mackenna Weber, Damon Weber, Kathleen Murphy, Josh Murphy, Kelsey Murphy, Gabrielle Gauchier, and Brian Murphy, as well as one great grandchild. She was pre-deceased by her mother and one brother. A celebration of life will take place at Mission Heights Church of Christ (8321 Mission Heights Drive) on Saturday, January 23 at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favourite charity in Kay’s name.
