October 6, 1928 – February 6, 2016 William Sopko, longtime resident of Spirit River, passed away in the Central Peace Health complex on February 6, 2016 after a brief illness. He was born on October 6, 1928 in Bodakia Poland and immigrated to Canada with his family when he was 5 months old. William is survived by his children: Cliff (Diana) of Spirit River, Daughter Lorraine (Earl) Pack of Spirit River, daughter- in-law Sharon Sopko of Spirit River; grandchildren Quinn, Jared, Brendan, Bradley and Landon; and many nieces and nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his wife Doris, Son Delbert, parents Fred and Yestina and brothers, Peter and Walter. At William’s request, there will be no funeral service but a graveside service will be held later on in the spring. Donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
