I had the opportunity of getting to know Jim 17 years ago when he hired me at Spirit River Drug. He started as my employer, but berfore long, things blossomed into a life long friendship with Jim and Laura. Every time I eat cake, I will think of Jim Jim and I shared the same taste for sweet foods and both agreed that cake never had enough icing. We both thought that the icing should be as thick as the cake. He would say “there can never be too much icing on a cake”. So I made him a chocolate cake and bought it to work. It had 3 inches of icing on it. When we cut the first piece, all the icing slid off. He just stared at the cake and said “ok I take back everything, there can be too much icing on a cake” We laughed then, and we still lauged about that years later. He was a unique man and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers to the family at this sad time. I know by now, Jim and Laura have reunited and she is probably dragging him around looking for rocks and garden gnomes to build their garden in heaven.
