With thanksgiving for a well-lived life, we announce the passing of Edna Larsen peacefully on July16 at the age of 103 years. She will be remembered and treasured by her family and friends for the blessing she has been in our lives for her strong faith, kind heart, positive outlook, and her voice lifted in song – mostly hymns of thanksgiving and praise. Originally from Dickson, AB, she moved to Grande Prairie in 1985 with her husband, Einer, to enjoy living near their sons and their families. For the past 17 years she has enjoyed living in Wildrose Manor and couldn’t be more grateful to her ‘family’ of staff and friends there. Mom will be lovingly remember by her daughter Irene ( Richard) Jensen, sons Laverne ( Doreen) Larsen, Mel ( Jean) Larsen, grandchildren Phil (Diane), Sandy(Robert), Denise (Michael), Janine, Cameron (Tammy), Steve (Lori), Blake(Louise) and 16 great grandchildren. Edna was predeceased by her husband Einer, parents Mads and Hannah Adamsen, and her three sisters. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the staff at Wild Rose Manor and Homecare for the many years of great care to Edna; and also to the staff at Grande Prairie Hospice for their very kind and gentle caring for Edna and all of us these last days. A celebration of life service will be held on September 7, 2013 at 2:30 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church.
