It is with heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Brian on April 14, at age 44. He was born and raised in Grand Bank, Newfoundland and attended college in St. John’s. In 1995 he relocated to Kelowna, BC, and eventually settled in Grande Prairie, Alberta, in 2014. Brian will always be remembered for his infectious smile and laugh, his loving nature, and his huge heart. He leaves treasured memories with his best friend and partner, Leanne Clare (Grande Prairie, Alberta); his sons Taylor and Matthew Welsh (Kelowna, British Columbia); his parents Bill and Hannah Welsh (Marystown, Newfoundland); aunts, uncles and cousins in British Columbia, Alberta and Newfoundland; and many friends, including his furry friend Duncan. Brian was an avid sports fan. He had a special passion for soccer and hockey, both of which he played at competitive levels. He was a valued teammate, and always had his teammates’ backs. This was so characteristic of him, as he always did his best to look out for those who were dear to him. A Celebration of Life is planned for September, 2016, in Marystown, Newfoundland.
