Obituary of Matthew Curtis Hein
Matthew was always in a hurry!! He came a month early and weighed in at 4lbs 12 0z on September 13, 1994. He was the world to his parents. He never took anything seriously, he was always smiling, laughing and talking about his Ford. He was an extremely patriotic young man; his dream was to go into the army but because of his eyes he was unable to do so. His tattoos on his arms say it all: “Pro Deo” – For God, “Pro Patria” – For Country. His favorite things to do when going to school were social studies, shop class, drama and playing football. As he grew older hanging out with his friends or his dad was all he wanted to do and he loved to go camping with his Mom and Dad. He loved old country music and being able to two-step! His death was an accident and he was doing what he loved; being with his friends.
Matthew is survived by his parents Tracy and Shelly Hein; his sister, Laurinda (Dominic) Cleveland; grandparents Corney and Margaret Hein and Lorne and Doris Bumstead as well as too many aunts, uncles and cousins to name and many, many friends.
He was predeceased by his grandfather, Lorne Bumstead, and uncles Don Velie and Ray Trudel.
A Gathering of Matthew’s family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 1pm at the Grovedale Hall. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA 12220-104 Avenue, Grande Prairie AB T8V 8A8.
The Hein family wishes to thank their extended family, the Grovedale Fire Department and everyone who responded, and the community of Grovedale for their support.
