Brian Moffat

Obituary of Brian Moffat

Brian Roger Moffat was born to Alex and Frankie Moffat in Moose Jaw, SK, and raised as a pastor’s kid throughout the province. He moved to Grande Prairie early on, and followed his father into the ministry, working with the Teen Challenge Centre, where he became assistant pastor, and met his first wife Connie. They raised their children in the Peace Region and in Edmonton, and most of the family relocated back to Grande Prairie in recent years. Brian met his present wife Agnes at Christian Fellowship Assembly, and quickly became an important part of the life of her children as well. Brian was able to remain friends with Connie, and celebrated holidays in recent years with Agnes, Connie and his children and their families. Brian was dedicated to Christ, and he pastored churches in Fairview, Fox Creek, Silver Valley, Mayerthorpe and Edmonton. Even after he left the ministry formally, he continued to work in the church. In recent years, he became involved with the Oasis Church and the Freedom Centre, and with international missions work in Argentina. His work with street people and people with addictions was a passion in his life. Brian was loved dearly by his family and his church family, and by many dear friends. He will be sorely missed.
