March 16, 1930 – July 4, 2016 It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our mother Nettie Kobylanski, on Monday July 4, 2016, at the age of 86; after a brave battle with cancer with her family by her side. Our Mom was born to Mike and Tekla Kutrowski in Ksituan, Alberta, where she was raised on the farm, in a family of seven children. Nettie was married to Sam Kobylanski in 1950. They moved to their farm shortly after, where they worked side by side and raised their family. Everyone looked forward to the traditional Sunday gatherings at the Maples for fishing and family dinners. Mom and Dad retired in 1974 and moved to Rycroft, where she enjoyed many years of involvement with the Merry Pioneers Drop in Center. After Dad’s passing, Mom moved to Grande Prairie for her remaining years. Her doors and arms were always open to family, friends, and neighbours. Her infectious zest for life was enjoyed by all that were around her. Nettie is survived by her children; Jim (Debbie) Kobylanski, Gordon (Marcy) Kobylanski, Pat (Mickey) Lanigan, Norm (Michele) Kobylanski, and her son-in-law Bob Kozuback. Her grandchildren; Corey (Maggie), Vanessa (Kelly), Courtney (John), Samantha (Darrel), Ali (Matt), Kali, Cody, Taylor, Scott (Tanya) Kozuback, and Kami (Jeff) Fehr. Her great-grandchildren; Rachel, Hanna, Tye, Ben, Will, Erica, Aliyah, Sullivan, and Declan. Her sisters Mary and Rose, and her numerous nieces and nephews. Nettie was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Sam Kobylanski, Daughter Shirley Kozuback, and her brothers; John, Bill, Walter, and Nick Kutrowski. A celebration of life will be held on July 9, 2016 at 10:00 am, at the Golden Age Centre, 10222-101 avenue Grande Prairie, Alberta. A Fellowship and luncheon will immediately follow the service. Interment will follow at the Volin Cemetery.
