With sad hearts, we announce that Rodney Ernest Socha passed away peacefully on August 10, 2016 at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, after a short battle with cancer, at the age of 55 years. Rod grew up in Eaglesham and has had many careers such as truck driver, sandblaster and most recently equipment operator. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him and at his request, give him a “CHEERS” and don’t be sad. Celebrate his life the way he did. Rod is survived by his parents; Ernest and Lois Socha of Grande Prairie, daughters Jennifer Davies and Nicole Socha, grandchildren Blake, Lucas and Payton and the mother of his children Doreen Socha all of Edmonton; sisters Sandra (Darren) of Grande Prairie, and Karen of Yellowknife; nieces Kortney (Josh), Sydney (Abe), Christina (Kyle), nephew Matthew, great niece Kiara and great-nephews Tyler and Oliver. He was preceded by his grandparents Stanley and Annie Socha and Justin and Christina Sinkevich. At his request there will be no funeral. Interment will be at a later date in Eaglesham Cemetery.
