Obituary of Norman Grams
On January 20th, 2013 Norman Ervin Grams of Grande Prairie passed away peacefully at Points West Living Hospice at the age of 67 years. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Evelyn Taylor, Rose Nelson (John), Erna Nelson, Julia Moonen (Ron), brother Edward (Eveline), many nieces and nephews, and friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Edward and Anna (Enns) Grams and his half-brothers Henry and Carl Schmitke.
Norman grew up in the Huallen area on his parents’ farm and attended the Aspen Dale School. After leaving the farm he attended Fairview College where he loved working in the greenhouse, and then he studied woodworking in Hines Creek. In 1981 he began his career at Canfor finishing there in 2000. He loved the outdoors, music, animals, funny movies, hockey, dancing, and people.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 9th, 2013, at the Salvation Army Church, 9525 83 Avenue Grande Prairie, with Major Daniel Roode officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at the Grande Prairie Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Norman’s name to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
