PARTLOW, SONIA LYNN – May 31, 1956 – Oct 6, 2013 It is with deep sorrow, that the family of Sonia Partlow announces the unexpected passing of our sister, auntie, niece, cousin and friend. Sonia was born & raised in Grande Prairie but has resided in Calgary since 1990. Left to cherish the memories of Sonia are her sister Ruth (Bill) Giles, her much loved nieces Shannon & Meghan, Aunt Evelyn Roessler, Uncle Ken & Aunt Margaret Head, Aunt Martha Head, and numerous cousins. Sonia also leaves behind her extended family at Rehoboth Christian Ministries in Calgary where she was so lovingly cared for and supported since moving to Calgary. We are truly grateful for the dedication of the Rehoboth staff and caregivers who welcomed Sonia into their lives and into their hearts. Sonia is predeceased by her parents Horace & Laura Partlow, her paternal grandparents Joseph & Alice Partlow and her maternal grandparents George & Isabella Head. Sonia touched the lives of so many people and because of her fantastic memory, she never forgot anyone. Even if she hadn’t seen you for many years, Sonia would always ask about your family, calling each by their names as well as remembering the names of the family pets. Sonia loved children and animals, especially dogs, but her greatest joy was going for coffee & visiting with her friends. Sonia was always helping people. With that in mind, her family takes comfort in knowing that Sonia lives on and continues to help the 5 organ recipients who now have more time with their families. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Sonia’s caregivers, the EMS attendants, ER & ICU staff at the Foothills Hospital for their efforts, care and compassion toward Sonia and her family. Also, a sincere thank you to the HOPE TEAM for their guidance & support through the organ donation process. Cremation has taken place. A service and celebration of Sonia’s life will be held in the spring of 2014 at which time everyone is invited to remember Sonia by joining her family and friends for coffee, lunch and visiting.
