CHALIFOUX, R. Elda (August 11, 1944 – September 19, 2014) Elda Chalifoux, long-time resident of Aspen Grove, passed away in Grande Prairie on September 19, 2014, at the age of 70 years. Born in Sucker Creek, Alberta, on August 11, 1944, Mom was married to Mike Chalifoux who passed away suddenly in the late ‘60s. Later she met Homer Cardinal and they were never separated until his death on August 3, 2012. Mom loved being a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed doing needlework as long as her hands allowed her to, and she also quilted when she was younger. Mom’s homemade bread and buns never lasted when her children came to visit. Mom is lovingly remembered by her children Robert Kenneth Prince, Cheryl Marie Prince, Connie Marie Chalifoux, Peter Clifford Cardinal, and Shirley Ann Cardinal; her 22 grandchildren and her 30 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her parents Frederick Prince and Mary Ann Cunningham, husband Homer Cardinal, duagher Carla Rose Cardinal, son Raymond Brian Chalifoux, great-granddaughter Jada Cardinal, all her brothers and one sister. A wake will be held for Elda Chalifoux on Tuesday, September 30, at 6PM at Mission Heights Church of Christ in Grande Prairie. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, October 1, at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grande Prairie, with interment to follow in Grande Prairie Cemetery. Following interment, a luncheon will be held at Mission Heights Church of Christ.
