David Andrew Thorne passed away in Clairmont, Alberta on September 22, 2014 at the age of 43 years. David was born on August 24, 1971 in Grande Prairie to Wayne and Frieda Thorne. He was the ‘thorne’ between two roses-his older sister Shelley and his younger sister Diane. He graduated from Sexsmith Secondary School and went on to pursue a career in IT and later in the trucking industry. He married Rosalind Leavitt on October 5th, 1996 and they were blessed with the birth of their daughter Hannah Christina Dawn on October 14, 2003 at the Alberta Childrens Hospital in Calgary. Hannah ‘Banana’ was the apple of his eye and he treasured his time with her always. After their separation, David moved to Dawson Creek B.C. where he met his special friend Lorrie Roberts and spent the last year and a half. David is predeceased by his Dad, David ‘Wayne’ Thorne in 1979, his grandmother Vera Valin in 1994, his grandfather Andrew Valin in 1996 and his grandfather Ernest Thorne in 2003. David will be sadly and lovingly missed by his mom Frieda Thorne and her special friend Bob Allen, his daughter Hannah Thorne, his sisters Shelley Sturgeon and Diane Rochon and respective families, his Nannie Rowena Thorne in New Brunswick, his special friend Lorrie Roberts and countless family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 27th at 1 pm at the Church of Christ (8321 Mission Heights Drive) Interment to follow at the Grande Prairie cemetery.
